GTI calls - AIT BOUGHROUS Ali, Morocco<p><strong>Abstract</strong></p>
<p>Le présent projet se propose de former un spécialiste à la taxinomie et la systématique des oligochètes dulçaquicoles du Maroc, avec un accent particulier sur les oligochètes des eaux souterraines. Il s’intègre dans un cadre de recherches plus vaste qui vise, par un inventaire exhaustif de la biodiversité des eaux souterraines du Maroc et la caractérisation des paramètres physico-chimiques du milieu, à mettre en évidence les relations entre la richesse spécifique des eaux souterraines et la qualité de celles-ci.</p>

<p>La formation de ce spécialiste permettra à l’équipe marocaine d’intégrer les oligochètes dans leurs projets de recherche, groupe traditionnellement négligé jusqu’à présent, par manque de connaissances.Placé dans le contexte du développement durable et de la conservation de la biodiversité, ce projet permettra, à moyen terme:</p>
<ol>
<li> de fournir une liste exhaustive des espèces des oligochètes du Maroc ;</li>
<li>d’identifier les constituants importants de cette faune, en terme de conservation (espèces reliques, endémiques et/ou stygobies) ; </li>
<li>d’identifier les sites souterrains prioritaires en terme de protection de la biodiversité existante et de surveillance;</li>
<li>de former du personnel technique local aux techniques de préparation et d’identification de routine des oligochètes dans le cadre de projets de surveillance de sites prioritaires. </li>

<p><strong>Gained personal capacity:</strong> Thanks to the taxonomic training received in Brussels, M. BOUGHROUS is now able to identify freshwater oligochaete. He used this gained knowledge to draw up a checklist of the groundwater oligochaetes of Morocco. </p>
<p>In 2007, he obtained his PhD entitled 'Biodiversité, écologie et qualité des eaux souterraines dans deux régions arides du Maroc : le Tafilalet et la région de Marrakech'. </p>
<p>In 2011, his built up capacity allowed him to get a position at the 'Ecole nationale des sciences appliquées of Al Hoceima where he has the responsibility over a module on hydrobiology thaught to ir-students, specialized in environmental ingeneering.</p>
